4/30 Zoom Troop Meeting Summary

posted May 3, 2020, 12:29 PM by Jim Stringer

Here are the things we discussed during Thursday’s Zoom Call

1.       CROSSOVER SCOUTS – you can continue to work on Scout rank requirements which are posted on the website. When you are ready to review the requirements in a scoutmaster conference have your parents reach out to Mr. Maher to arrange a meeting.

2.       OPTIONAL MERIT BADGES THAT CAN BE WORKED ON AT HOME – info on website

Public Health Merit Badge: Anyone interested in working on the this badge please see the website

Cooking Merit Badge: Anyone already working on this badge please continue with your at home cooking. For the step involving making a shopping list no one is expected to actually go out and shop to get the things on this list. Information for this badge is on the website.

Citizenship in the Community and Nation Merit Badges – If you would like to review work with Mr. Meier let us know and we will let you know how to get in contact with him. Some requirements are relaxed right now, such as ability to call or email officials rather than interviewing them in person.

Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Family Life Merit Badges all have a component where the scout has to come up with a plan and follow it over the course of multiple weeks. For example a personal fitness plan should be completed over the course of 12 weeks and the family life badge has the scout choose chores to do over the course of 90 days.

***If choose to do Personal Fitness you do not have to worry about Item #6 right now, just #7 & 8.
