posted Dec 7, 2010, 8:40 AM by Dan Harasty   [ updated Dec 11, 2010, 9:28 AM by Troop 150 Announce ]

  • Caroling: Troop 150 is again this year spreading holiday cheer with its annual caroling service project.
    • Date & time: Thu, Dec 16th, meet at 6:45p.  We'll go on at about 7pm, and we usually sing a about an hour.
    • Where: John L Montgomery Care Center, 115 Dutch Lane Road, Freehold, NJ, Freehold (map).
    • Afterwards: The Scoutmaster will treat carolers to a treat at Jersey Freeze.  (Yay!)
    • Wear:
      • Scouts: wear your Class A uniforms.  You can add a bit of holiday whimsy, if you'd like (such as a Santa hat, holiday scarf, etc.)
      • Family: wear something festive.  Suggestion to wear red, as it is the troop secondary color and in the holiday spirit.
    • Who:
      • All active and alumni Troop 150 scouts.
      • Their family members (parents and siblings)
      • Webelos scouts considering Troop 150 and their parents.  (Join us on the 9th, too, if you can.)
    • Rehearsal:
      • The troop meeting of Dec 9 will be rehearsal for caroling (at our usual troop meeting venue: Hope Lutheran Church)
    • Musicians:
      • Seeking troop guitarists & bassists to join in the accompaniment.
        • Sheet music (lyrics and chords) is posted  below.  Download, print, and practice!
      • Other instruments or vocal soloists: work up a Christmas carol, and let's discuss where you can fit in to the program.
      • Either way, you MUST attend rehearsal on the 9th to be eligible to play at the event, AND please plan to arrive by 6:30pm on the 16th so we can tune up, and go over our cues.
    • Press coverage:  The Asbury Park Press is interested in sending a photographer and/or reporter.  Cool!
    • Info:  For more info, contact Mr Harasty via email or phone: 732-637-9840.
