ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE MERIT BADGE

Thursday Nights in August 1,8,15,22,29

I will be offering the Environmental Science Merit Badge this summer. All interested scouts are invited to participate. There will be no pre-requisites required, however…this is an Eagle required Merit Badge and carries a significant level of difficulty. All scouts seriously interested should participate. I will work with each and every one to ensure your badge is completed and the material is understood. If you are willing to work hard I will gladly assist you... but heads up, we will be working hard.

 

We will be meeting on Thursday nights at the Lutheran Church (same room as scouts). Class will begin promptly at 7:30 so please arrive a few minutes early and be prepared to begin at 7:30.  Please come to class with a pen and dedicated notebook for this badge.  Each week I will preselect 3 scouts to assist in clean up and breakdown of the room at the conclusion of class. This list will be posted prior to the first day.

 

We will complete 4 lectures, an overview review & final exam. In addition to the class time I will schedule a “hands on” field trip for a weekend where we can turn our class work into field work.

 

If you would like to participate, each scout needs to:

·         Email me with your name, phone & an email address that you would like class emails to be sent to. (send me yours and your parent’s email)

 

Once I receive your email I will:

·         Add you to the class list

·         Email you the environmental science merit badge book copy (no need to buy one)

·         Reserve a blue card for you that I will have you complete the first day of class.
