Isaac's Eagle project will be on August 20th and 21st. I will be repairing the Manasquan reservoir's three wildlife viewing blinds around the park On Saturday, we will be fixing the two better of the three blinds, the Perimeter trail blind as well as the Visitor center blind. These will mostly be re-painting and small amount of repairs to the blinds. Work will be beginning at 9am, and we will be meeting at the maintenance entrance at the intersection of Peskin road and Richard road. Look for a red troop shirt. However, this area only has parking for around 4 vehicles, so please let Isaac know if you plan to be parking here. (You can try parking on Richard Road, but don't trespass. The closest park parking lot is Chestnut Point; you can park there and call Mr Harasty 732-637-9840 for a ride back to the maintenance gate.) When done at the first blind, we will head over to the Visitors Center area for lunch. There is a short trail that leads to a small picnic area on the "right side" of the parking lot, by the boat launch. We will have lunch there, then work on the second blind which is very close. We will shuttle scouts from first site to second, but if you are planning to pick up when done, please plan to meet us there. On Sunday we will be repairing the Cove trail blind which will require a lot more work. We will be meeting on the maintenance entrance on Georgia Tavern rd across from the address 424 Georgia tavern rd (Also close to its intersection with Windeler if that helps). We will be meeting at 9am. Again, due to limited parking, please consider Chestnut Point parking, and call Mr Harasty for a ride. Please bring goggles, we will be doing a lot of painting. Also we will be providing lunch for both days. Also, if anyone has a portable electric sander (battery or corded) that I could use for the project, please let know. It would help out a lot |
