Merit Badges and Optional Community Service

posted Dec 6, 2014, 5:11 PM by Alex Karn
  • I will be holding merit badge sessions for Emergency Preparedness and (if time allows) Fire Safety. The sessions will last for three hours between 12:00 and 3:00. Meetings will take place at Mr. Pitarresi's house (38 Stream Bank Drive, Freehold, NJ 07728). There will be a total of four sessions on the following days:
    • Saturday December 27th
    • Saturday January 3rd
    • Saturday January 10th
    • Saturday January 17th
  • As discussed after the Court of Honor, Emergency Preparedness is a serious merit badge that requires commitment. I realize that many boys have basketball during this time, so I will do my best to accompany these schedules. However, at the same time, important material must be covered quickly, so it is crucial to try and not fall behind.
  • I am also involved in several community service events at Brookdale Community College for which I could use assistance from anyone willing. I will collect items up until Thursday December 18th. I am thankful for any support that can be given by Scout families.
    • Shoe Drive - GENTLY USED shoe collection to be donated to the homeless.
    • Toys For Tots - NEW toys to be sent to needy children before Christmas.
