Friday October 10th

Weather:

Hi: 61 Low; 53

As we pasted the checkpoint barricades around 8 that night, we entered the Coast Guard basic training base; full of recruits some will make it some will not. The wind howled and the rain shivered down our backs as we set up our tents and went right to sleep eager to see what awaited us on the morrow.

Saturday October 11th

Weather:

Hi: 63 Low: 55

We awoke to find the rain was still going full speed as we marched in sloppy but inspiring formation to the mess hall. The food was excellent compared to the cuisine typically expected on a campout. We came back for a few minutes and headed to the Aviation Museum. In the Museum there were a few World War 2 dive bombers, a lot of Cold War aircraft and a few miscellaneous items. We ate Lunch and headed onward to the walking tour were we saw the Monroe monument and a few small ships. The Coolest ship we bored was the USGC Ibis which had two Browning 50 caliber machine guns, a PS4 and a very impressive engine room. That night we slept well.

Sunday October 12th

Weather:

Hi: 63 Low: 43

We had a sweep, got our breakfast and said our farewells as we left the base.

This was truly a amazing campout

Yours in Scouting Chrisitan
